About me!

Hiya! My name's Katie, though I tend to go by kitsting online. You can call me either! I studied computer science at #1 in Innovation (though, to be honest, i'm not amazing at it) and I spend my days flip flopping between doing nothing and feverishly working on projects. Anyways, I made this site!

I wanted this site to be a little safe space for me to do whatever. I really don't like social media (and it's only gotten worse in recent years)*, and I love exploring personal websites, so I figured a personal site of my own would be the best way to express myself. Even though it's fairly barebones right now, I'm very proud of it.

What? My hobbies? Well, I like reading books and playing games, and I love pursuing anything that's creative. Right now I'm learning how to sew and draw in my free time.

• I tried downloading a game... What is this weird "7z"/"gz"/"xz" thing????
• To save space and bandwidth, a lot of the downloadable files on this site are compressed! If you're on Windows, you should be able to install 7zip or another archive manager to extract it. Most Linux distributions should be able to handle compressed files automagically. If you're on mac I really have no clue. That was your own doing.
• What's your policy on generative AI?
• I will never use genAI on this website, except for possible demonstration purposes. In this case, the usage will be made excessively clear. I value the fact that everything on this site was made by me and reflects who I am, instead of the will of The Machine. While current genAI systems are certainly interesting and have legitimate uses, 99% of the things they're being used for are dumb as hell (ignoring the vast other problems with the technology)
• What about cookies? Javascript?
• This site currently does not use any form of Javascript or cookies. This may change in the future, as those would be cool to learn, but this site will always work without them. And, of course, if I do get around to learning Javascript, it will mostly likely be all code I wrote myself. No external libraries, and definitely no tracking.
